**UPDATE*** Crystal Palace stop in Picton is active as of Wednesday January 10th and the Picton Clinic stop will remain as an On-Demand stop call the office for a Ride.

The Picton Main Street reconstruction project will begin on Monday, June 5.

The project, which will span from Johnson Street to 250 metres east of Spencer Street, includes the following work:

  • Installation of new underground infrastructure including watermains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers.

  • Roadway reconstruction with new concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalks, and a new asphalt roadway surface.

RW Tomlinson Limited, the contractor for this project, will complete the work in three phases to minimize the impact to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The first phase of construction will be conducted between Johnson Street and Bay Street from June 5 until late August.

Access to properties fronting Picton Main Street will be maintained during the first phase. Through traffic on Picton Main Street will be detoured along Johnson Street, McSteven Street, and McFarland Drive. View the detour map.

Quinte Transit's pick up and drop off locations on Picton Main Street near Life Labs and near Crystal Palace will be temporarily suspended during the construction. Transit riders will get picked up and dropped off at a temporary stop on Johnson Street near the corner of Picton Main Street. Signs will be in place at the temporary stop.

Phase 2 work will be conducted between Bay Street and Spencer Street beginning in late August with completion in November 2023. Phase 3 work between Spencer Street and approximately 250 metres east of Spencer Street will take place in 2024.
